Friends,
“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” – Coretta Scott King
It is with ache and disappointment in our hearts that we announce the cancelation of the in-person features of Chill Out & Proud 2021. We, like you, want to safely gather with our community and connect after various periods of isolation. We cannot, however, foster any environment that may cause the spread of coronavirus or additional strain on our local medical community.
The Delta variant’s grip on our community, district, and state is causing record numbers of cases, hospitalizations, ICU stints, and deaths. Our hearts are with those battling the virus and those who have lost loved ones to its grasp. We remain committed to centering our community’s wellness above all else.
That said, we hope to bring you a virtual Pride event on October 2nd that will have you dancing in your rainbow onesies safely at home with a table full of snacks and your beverages of choice! With a lineup of incredible musical and drag talent, emcees and vendors, it’s a show you won’t want to miss! We will reach out to all of our entertainment, ticket holders, sponsors, and vendors to navigate this shift to a virtual festival so please keep an eye on your inboxes.
Community, please get vaccinated if you are able to. It decreases your risk of illness, hospitalization, and death. We want to hug you at Chill Out & Proud 2022! Wear your masks. Be considerate of our medical professionals and service industry workers. Take extra special care of yourself through this difficult time. Be compassionate toward one another and thoughtful about how your choices impact those around you.
We love you. Pride isn’t canceled, we are simply going to Chill In & Proud.
